Sunrise Pages February

Salutations, Noble Creator!

Thank you for helping me to find rest, peace, joy, and satisfaction in my day yesterday.  This morning I am refreshed and looking forward to the journey of this day.  May I meet all, this day, with Grace and Compassion.

So, it feels like now is the time for me to get creative about the “Conversations” I’m excited to share.  You’ll catch a glimpse behind-the-curtain of my creative process; because, the brainstorming that follows will be an amalgam of rough draft writing and inspired dialogue with my Guides.

We’ll all get to see where I end up –

Ray:  My vision is to create a time and space, routine and scheduled, where we are in live conversation about the different topics and themes that show up in our lives and on these Pages.  To recognize the power some of these topics have over us, because of the way we think about them (Shoulds, approval, doubt).  To dissolve some of that power, even by simply acknowledging the thoughts; then, going deeper to consider and discuss new ways of thinking.  Mostly, though, to find power and connection in community; to discover that we all cycle through similar struggles; and to bond together to creatively problem-solve, and help ourselves and others.

dHarma:  What’s the most important part of that, to you, right now?

Ray:  Gathering.  Together.

dHarma:  Okay.  So, who’s the we?

Ray:  Well, my initial response is – Anybody.  And, by that, I mean I don’t wish to limit participation by age, gender, or job description.  I want anyone who could benefit from this group and these conversations, to feel invited.

That being said, here’s another angle to answering that question.

  • The person who feels stuck, and wants to bring freedom to her/his life.
  • The person who feels overwhelmed and frustrated, and wants to bring some peace and balance in his/her life.
  • The person who desires to go deeper, exploring her/his Values, Desires, Joy, and Purpose.
  • The person who wants to introduce change in (to) his/her life – like exercise, healthy living and eating, rest and play, or regularly scheduled Activities of Joy; and realizes the mental/emotional component needing to be shifted and refocused toward that goal.
  • The person who feels she/he is playing defense all the time in her/his life; worrying about what others think, and whether she/he fits in and is “good enough.” She/he is exhausted from the constant worry and effort, and desires to find a better, easier, more joyful and sustainable way.
  • The person who is ready to take responsibility for his/her own happiness, by changing the way he/she sees the world, and himself in it, and make powerful choices toward change in him/herself.

These are all people who are tired, frustrated, and struggling, on the one hand; but, they are also at the tipping point, motivated and ready to move, ready to risk and explore; willing to get a little dirty and a little sore in this brave trek into this New Territory.

One thing that’s clear in my vision – I want men to participate.  Now, I don’t see this as “For Men Only.”  But, I do feel there’s a void in providing a place for men to show up and share their thoughts and beliefs; a space that’s open and safe to get vulnerable.  Maybe that will call for a “Men’s Only” group; we’ll see.

dHarma:  How do you feel about your description of your who?  Did you miss anyone?  Who is your #1 person?

Ray:  Wow.  So, my gut says I would want to work on my who some more.  I do see that as a rough draft – in some ways, I see them all as iterations of the same person.  In truth, versions of the person I’ve been, and from where I started my journey.  Maybe it’s too much ego or doubt, but I’m also telling myself that the more iterations I include, the better chance someone will say – “That’s me!” and answer the call.

dHarma:  What do you think about trusting whatever you put out in the world will connect as it’s meant to; that the right people will recognize themselves and opt in?

Ray:  Well, that’s my work, certainly – set my intention; do my work, creatively and in connection with The Source; and then release it.

dHarma:  And, the second part of my question – in your descriptions, is there one that best describes the person for this group?

Ray:  When I look at the short list I created, the two that really resonate; and, I see them as two shades of the same theme, is: the person who wants to introduce change in (to) his/her life… and is ready to take responsibility for his/her own happiness.

dHarma:  Cool.  How does knowing that make you feel?

Ray:  Honestly, it gives me goose bumps; that feeling of elevation, that compassionate connection with others.  But, how will they come?

dHarma:  That’s my job.  You do what you do.  It starts now!

Thank you so much, dHarma.  Blessings!
