Soulful Peace to You, Divine Creator!
I rose early today, and when I gazed eastward, I did indeed see an impressive dawn, filled with clouds painted with tones of fiery red. From my vantage point, there’s also a lone tall evergreen that frames my view. My attempts to photograph the splendor don’t do justice to the magnificent colors present, but I’m so grateful to bear witness.
There is the adage – “Red in the morning, sailors take warning…” There is a cold front and some storminess heading west-to-east this way, so there’s a chance of something coming through today, and then cooler temperatures the next couple days. We’ll see.
I slept well last night, but again went to bed late, so there’s a building deficit; Sleep Scale: 4/5. Today is a day off, technically, so there may be a nap in my future. There are things I’m looking to do, as well – finish reading the chapters for tonight’s Book Club call, plus a little prep; some mentoring homework, reading, and creation; perhaps a run (or a quick nine holes); some more cleaning and shredding; maybe a little trumpet-playing;…
As I expand that list, the ticking clock I imagine gets louder and more oppressive. One thing at a time, Ray. That’s how I enjoy my experiences. I won’t likely get to everything. I can allow that to be okay. I hope to enjoy and be fully present for each thing I do choose to do.
In the past, I would spend a lot of time writing a long, long list of the things I should be doing. I would put a lot of time and effort into the list, and then get paralyzed with where to start, and how impossible it felt imagining trying to get it all done. It was like my mind’s goal was to create that paralysis.
So, today, I’ll stop with those ideas I’ve listed, and simply start with one, looking to experience that one thing fully. If so, then today is a success.
By the way, my first experience – writing today’s Sunrise Pages – is just about completed and enjoyed, so I have already found success today!
Dear One, I offer you this Prompt:
What is your One Thing today?
You may have errands and tasks to do, and your job to perform, but identify one Act of Love you wish to experience today.
Maybe it’s meditation at your sit spot, reading, practicing yoga, cooking, or taking three minutes to watch the rain or the birds in the nearby bushes.
Honor yourself by taking the time for something sacred and meaningful today.
You give me the gift of a bland canvas each day, Universe. What will we do with it today? Flowing with Love and Abundance, My Dear Guides!
