Sunrise Pages September

Good Morning, Loving Creator –

Cool temperatures, fall temperatures, have arrived, and the fog in the valley seems to be growing heavier at the moment.  The forecast is for sunshine today, once the fog dissipates, with high temperatures only reaching the low 60’s.

I’ll be on the water today, doing kayak instruction.  We have two classes scheduled, but as of yesterday there were no participants registered for the afternoon class.  So, I’m not sure if I’ll be working in-store for part of my day.

Part of me, though, is picturing my afternoon paddling on the river on my own.  We’ll see.

Boldness.  Daring.  I mean, when we head off on adventure, the excitement and anticipation is rooted in what we don’t know, in all the elements for which we are unsure, in all the possibilities for what might happen.

Within us, we know where we are guided.  At the least, we have a hunch.

When we face the unknown, we either have some level of anticipation and excitement, or we have an aversion.

Yet, even when we are drawn toward our thing, even when we feel excited, and we dream about it…our lizard will shout his doubts and fears, will scream, “Just who do you think you are?!”  He’ll ask, “What if everything goes wrong?  People will laugh at you and judge you. You will feel small and worthless.  You will be ruined.  Broken.  Destroyed.  Your life will be over; ended.”

And, it’s true.  Just by daring, just by doing what I’m called and guided to do, and being who I was born to be, finally – my old life will feel small and worthless; it will feel broken.  My old life will end; will be burned up, to allow something new and beautiful to take its place.

So, how about a Prompt for today:

Letting Your Wrong Life Fall Apart – it’s in the first two chapters of Diana, Herself – our epic story of how we desperately fight to hang onto our unsatisfactory and unfulfilling life, because we are afraid to dare to search, and stumble, toward our greater, bigger life.

We have to first dare to let go, with hope and faith, trusting that our better life is searching for us, too.

One Turtle Step forward, Dear Guides.  One daring, little Turtle Step!
