Salutations, Divine Universe!

I’ll admit to a touch of disappointment, waking up and not seeing at least a dusting of snow outside.  But, I know it’s made an appearance in higher elevations nearby.  And, in truth, it’s a wonderfully gray, cool, windy fall day that takes me back to the leaf-raking, family fall days of my youth.

My wife and I are both a little under the weather, and she’s definitely fighting off a stuffy-head, scratchy-throat thing.  She was endeavoring to make chicken soup this morning when she got a wave of shaky, clammy sweats.

“Why don’t you come sit down, and you can just tell me what to do, and I’ll do it?” I offered.

A slight hesitation, then “Okay.”

It was just peeling and quartering a carrot and parsnip, quartering an onion and a celery stalk, and then adding them and a tablespoon each of rosemary and thyme to the pot holding the water and whole chicken, to simmer for a couple hours.

She really appreciated me doing it.  And, I enjoyed being helpful.

Sometimes, the answers are simple, yet we still hesitate and get in our own way.

I know I’ve avoided things this week that I’ve wanted to work on; things that would serve me in such a positive way to move through – the exercises for The Integrity Cleanse, other writing that’s been brewing, correspondences, and drawing out my writing workshop, fleshing out a Brilliant Conversations blurb, and sprucing up my website.

My goal today is to unavoid some of these things.  Meaning that, rather than create a different direction to go, I’ll tackle some of these “avoidables.”

Here’s a Prompt for you:

The simple truth, Dear One, is that when we try to avoid something uncomfortable, it lingers and stretches, so that we end up putting so much extra time and effort into it than if we just did it in the first place.

Make a list of your current “avoidables” – the stuff that shows up on your To-Do Lists regularly, maybe even day after day, just because you never just take it on and resolve it.

Stare down your list, Dear One, and pick one item that you will do today.

And, how about sharing what your item was and what time you completed it today?

I will light a candle in your honor, and we can celebrate your success!

Water finds the easiest path to travel.  Sometimes, for us, that means just doing the thing!  Knowing to do – Integrity – Thank you, Guides!
