Courage, Dear Creator!
It was the Super moon the last two nights. And, today, a brand new day has dawned.
How do we continue moving forward through it all?
Peace. Faith. Trust. Courage.
Sometimes we get seduced into the belief that, if we do what we are “supposed to do,” living in the most ethical, pure, clean, and loving way – well, then, we get all the green lights and sunny days, and we get to pass straight to GO.
We then feel cheated, and that it’s unfair, when we still get roadblocks, bad news, and difficult situations showing up in our life.
After all – doesn’t karma guarantee us good mojo as our reward for “right living?”
That is a valuable question; one worth going deeper to answer.
I personally don’t think of karma as a behavior reward system in that way. What karma explains, more simply, is that each moment we experience is the culmination and confluence of energy and actions of our past, intersecting with the energy and actions with the entire world.
Each moment and situation is a training ground – an opportunity to learn and practice; a trial-and-error for who and how we want to be.
Let’s say as a young boy I was taught to be judgmental and competitive. In every situation, I would judge and compete. That would create an energy and build a series of consequences so that my present world might be even more strongly framed in judgment and competition.
Yet, if I was raised to address each situation with kindness, support, and encouragement, then I would practice that again and again.
And, if the kind, supportive, encouraging me now encounters an individual living her/his life framed in judgment and competition, I will practice what I know – kindness, support, and encouragement, while s/he practices what s/he knows. It’s the same situation for both of us, but our energy and worldview experiences it differently.
It’s not so much a reward, but the harvest of what we have sown and tended.
And, there’s always the opportunity to learn, and to choose differently, as we share our experiences with others and the world.
Today’s Prompt:
So, there it is, Dear One – if you want peace, happiness, success – whatever it is that you wish in your life – it isn’t that you can do a certain kind of work for a certain length of time with a certain amount of effort, and then you’ve earned you place in the Promised Land, and you get to discontinue your effort and work.
By choosing your path, sowing the seeds, and tending your garden – making that effort – will you be able to find the peace, happiness, balance, and success you seek. And, through your deep practice, you will cultivate an ease to it – knowing to do will be simpler and easier than not doing.
What you seek is what you will discover along The Way.
We’re all just walking each other home. Much Love for your companionship, My Dear Guides!
