Quiet Stillness, Sweet Universe –

It is past sunrise, but it’s still dark and gray, as we get a fresh cover of snow.  It’s not expected to be a lot, but right now everything is still, except for the snowfall.

Yesterday was the winter solstice, the longest night; and, now with today’s snow, I’m appreciating the workings in the astronomical and meteorological realms.

The peace of watching the silent snowfall certainly seems connected to yesterday’s centering thought around the flow of abundance.

Looking out at the house and barn across the way, now with their roofs re-covered with snow, the landscape behind foggy-thick with falling flakes, and watching the snow against the deep red sides of that house and barn.

It’s like looking into a snow globe after shaking it.  Except, I’m the one inside, and this magical scene is the outside.  It’s real and available, offering its wonder and beauty.

At this moment, too, I am thinking that too often we see our dreams in the same way – separate from us; too wonderful and fantastic to seem real or possible.

Yet, in this magnificent world of beauty and love, what we seek is out there, seeking us.

If we dare to go out.  To journey forth.

The other day, a friend posted a quote – “The only permanent failure is when we let a temporary failure stop us.”

There’s a choice we each get to make.  We have our dreams – what will we do with them?

You could choose to never explore them, for fear of never finding them; or, maybe worse, fear of finding that they were impossible and not at all real.

Or, you can spend your whole life tracking them, following their trails, seeing how close you can get to them.  Maybe even, one day – arriving!

What would that be like?

In one version, you never even try.  In the other, your life is a complete adventure, filled with passion and energy, and fueled by hope.

It’s your choice.
